Welcome

Welcome to the 2nd International Conference on Comparative Presidential Studies and Presidentialism

Political scientists from different parts of the world are dedicated to studies on the Executive Power. The knowledge produced in this area has already resulted in important insights, especially on the variations of this structure among different regions and government systems. The focus on presidential systems requires that researchers investigate the operation and development of the Presidency as an office which coordinates this structure.

This debate will guide the 2nd International Conference on Comparative Presidential Studies and Presidentialism. The program includes several panels, focusing on the discussion regarding the organizational bases of the Presidency; the Executive Power’s internal coordination problems; the implications for the functioning of the Executive Power in multi-party cabinet coalition governments; the development of state capabilities, in relation to the coordination; and integration of the actions of the Executive Power.

The event will bring together renowned researchers from different countries to discuss the topic, enabling critical reflection and exchange of knowledge. This interaction will also function as an important element in promoting researcher networks.
